Special Walking Weeks

These weeks have a fixed programme of walks, on one of two themes, and run during the summer months - from late May to early September. There is no fixed date for either programme, but we do ask for a minimum of 4 walkers in 2 studios before running one of these weeks. If you are a couple on your own, please contact us with your requirements, as we may know of other couples interested in one of these specials for a particular date. Gorges Galore!

Come and explore 5 of Crete's fantastic gorges in 4 separate day walks. Our programme includes the delightful Myli gorge (named for its historic Venetian watermills); dramatic Prassanos gorge with its towering cliffs and vulture colony; the fantastic double gorge walk of Moundros (more vultures) and Kato Poros; and, naturally, the mighty Samaria Gorge. Whilst not quite as strenuous as our 3 Peaks Challenge, below, you still need a good degree of walking fitness to manage the 4 day programme. Walk distances range from about 7 miles to about 11 miles, and do include a certain degree of ascent in some cases. (The double gorge walk, for example, has an ascent of approximately 1500 feet).

Price per couple for the 4 walks and one week's accommodation, including all walk day transport (except ferry cost on Samaria day, approx. 7 Euros), is £425 or 505 Euros.

Three Peaks Challenge!

Stride out and bag 3 of Crete's most challenging peaks, including the summit of the highest mountain on the island. 3 separate day walks take in the peaks of Mount Kedros (5830 feet), Gingilos (6824 feet) and Mount Psiloritis (8058 feet). This week is for experienced fellwalkers only, and has 3 challenging days on the hills. The minimum daily ascent is about 3000 feet (Gingilos), the maximum about 4000 feet (Psiloritis). Walk lengths vary from approximately 8 miles to 12 miles. Please note that due to the longish travel distances from Footscapes to both Psiloritis and Gingilos, these will be long days with early(!) starts. Your efforts will be rewarded with the most amazing views and a real sense of achievement.

Price per couple for the 3 walks and one week's accommodation, including all walk day transport, is £415 or 495 Euros.
